I have alittle more than a year to do the hip hop dance for my school and I really dont have a beat and I **** at dancing and I am black haha anyway can anyone help me feel the music and just dance with the beat and help me look like it looks like i am not try to hard?

I really want to start dancing lyrical. Every year when SYTYCD comes on, my heart aches to be able to do even a fraction of what they can. (dramatic phrasing ik haha) But I’m 15 and I’m afraid I’ll be a giant among two year olds if I start ): Soooooo how do I get into lyrical? Should I take another style before getting into it?
